June 25 - 4 July Land Only Price: $1,999; Single Supplement $499 Go back in time to experience villages and castles of Slovakia! June 26 - Hel'pa Festival - meet crafts people, see spectacular textiles exhibit, enjoy folk dancers, sample foods, photo opps galore. Village visits to bell collector in Sumiac and a doll maker in Telgart. June 27 - Enjoy remote villages in central Slovakia. In Hrochot go to Ana's home to admire her folk embroideries and sheepskin coat decorating. We will immerse in a home museum in Poniky; try on an exotic headdress and get the taste of village life; marvel at an ancient wooden Lutheran church - UNESCO Treasure, made amazingly without any nails. Dine in a medieval castle. June 28 - Spania Dolina, remote mining village famed for centuries for lace making. Visit the Lace Museum and a lace-maker's home. On to a farm, to meet a weaver and party with locals and the mayor. June 29 - Climb to grand Spis Castle, enjoy the view; on to a Rusyn shepherding village; see icon-filled church, visit village homes, learn how to make potato pirohy with the village women; we will feast and dance! Two nights in the Curia of Fricovce Castle; as we enjoy delights of old Spis and Saris Counties of Eastern Slovakia. June 30 - Tour Budimir Castle; Tokay wine villages with unique tufa wine caves dating from the Turkish invasions. Hear ladies singing in a Vranov village, Zemplin. July 1 - Vazec home museum and open a dower chest to view a life's worth of folk dress. July 2 - Visit Liptov villages, enjoy 400 year old Lestiny, painted wooden church, and magnificent Orava Castle. July 3 - Marvel at treasures in the Slovak Ethnographic Museum in Martin, Turiec. Photo Beckov castle and tour grand Cerveny Kamen Castle near Bratislava, hear the legends and see the period furniture and interiors. July 4 - Farewell.
